The Music

What?
What? is a funk fusion sextet hailing out of the Hudson Valley of New York. Although commonly confused with the international sensation known as ‘The Who,’ What? has been pioneering their own path to success despite being put on second base by Russ Abbott in 1938. The band found their roots in 2016 when Ryan Perrone and Dan Steen met while studying music at SUNY New Paltz. After graduating in 2020, the band solidified their current line-up and all moved in together.
Drawing influence from the serene landscape of the Catskills that inspired the likes of The Band and Donald Fagen, What? bridges the gap between funk, jazz fusion, and improvisational jam

Spencer Lweis
Spencer Lewis is a purveyor of reflective instrumental folk grooves and a singer-songwriter. His signature sound combines the precision of the acoustic guitar with the sustained elegance of the violin that he performs on stage by the live-looping of both instruments, allowing him to move in unpredictable directions, often spontaneously, to reprise or eclipse the music from his 21 album catalog. He writes original ballads and anthems that are transcended from old time and folk rock sensibilities filled with spiritual optimism, confessional intimacy and introspection. Eric Graham plays fretless electric bass and adds another dimension to Lewis’ instrumentals and impromptu passages with his fearless creativity.
